The Value of Recycling

Recycling eligible household containers is a great way to reduce your environmental impact and build a more sustainable future. At Cairns Recycling, we run container refund points for the Queensland Containers for Change scheme, with sites in Smithfield, Portsmith, Mareeba, Edmonton, Gordonvale and Mackay.

It's never too early to teach kids the value of household recycling. A great place to start is with a yellow-lidded recycling bin. Show them which items can be recycled, such as paper, cardboard, plastic and glass. Any eligible cans, bottles and other containers can be dropped off at one of our centres. Earning 10 cents per item can be a fun incentive for kids too and it can add up quickly!
